OPP issue over 9,000 tickets during Thanksgiving long weekend
OPP report that this past Thanksgiving long weekend proved to be tragic in Ontario, with seven vehicle occupants, a pedestrian, and three off-road riders losing their lives in OPP jurisdictions. The holiday saw a surge in unsafe driving, prompting the OPP to participate in the annual Operation Impact campaign.
Officers issued nearly 9,000 traffic-related charges, including 4,902 for speeding and 163 for impaired driving. Additionally, 388 seatbelt violations and 85 distracted driving fines were recorded.
